Dr. Angela Cherniak, O.D. practices on the eastern shore at Southern Eye Group of Alabama where she has been providing eye care since 2013. She works with patients ranging from a routine exam to managing ocular diseases. Dr. Cherniak is passionate about protecting and preserving sight. She believes “Sight is one of the main senses that our bodies use to navigate our world and enhance our daily lives. The eye is one of the most sensitive organs of the body.
It is because of this sensitivity that almost anything going on with the body will manifest, in some way, in the eyes and as a result can cause damage. That is why I have made it my mission to provide each and every one of my patients with the best eye care possible and therefore the best chance to fully experience their world.”
Angela has a bachelors of Science in Biology as well as a bachelors of Arts in Philosophy from Indiana University. After her undergraduate degrees she went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. She has extensive education and training in medical eye care through not only the university setting, but also ophthalmology practices and VAs, which has allowed her the ability to examine, diagnose, treat, and manage ocular conditions full scope.
Dr. Cherniak was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. Angela and her husband moved their family to Fairhope, Alabama in 2013. They have three children, two of which have graduated and are out in the world making a difference in their own ways. The Cherniak family loves spending time on the beaches of the eastern shore, playing at the parks, or exploring the state forests and wildlife. Dr. Cherniak is amazed by how wonderful this area is, and she is very grateful to be part of the community.
